All pressure safety devices of our modular system are self-contained bursting units designed for installation in vessels, valve blocks and piping systems. A threaded port with a sealing ring is all that is needed to achieve the required safety. We offer suitable solutions for gaseous as well as liquid media. Various types and versions are available to meet a wide range of requirements regarding burst pressure, thread and discharge volume.
All Hybrid Assembly® types consist of a housing and a burst foil which is sealed metal-to-metal by means of a pressure screw. The burst plugs are designed to the customer’s requirements with regard to burst pressure and temperature. Limits are set almost exclusively by physical conditions.
The Hybrid Assembly® housings are made of high-grade stainless steel 1.4404 (AISI 316L). Nickel, stainless steels and nickel-based alloys such as Inconel*) can be used for the burst foils. Due to the design, a helium leak rate of up to 1 x 10-9 mbar l/s is achievable.
Hybrid Assembly® STANDARD
This burst plug with parallel pipe thread according to DIN EN ISO 228-1 follows the design of the screw plug according to DIN 910.
- Burst pressure range: 3 – 1000 bar (45 – 14500 psi)
- DN: 2.0 – 12.7 mm
- Thread: G 1/8″, G 1/4″, G 3/8″, G 1/2″, G 3/4″, G 1″
Hybrid Assembly® LOW PRESSURE
Achieve low burst pressures with small connection threads. This is made possible by an enlarged burst cross-section of 12.7 mm downstream of the actual DN, which is limited by the small connection thread.
- Burst pressure range: 3 – 225 bar (45 – 3260 psi)
- DN: 4.0 or 8.0 mm (depending on thread)
- Thread: G 1/8″, G 1/4″, G 3/8″, G 1/2″, 1/2″-20 UNF (suitable e.g. for the Swagelok tee 1/4″ NPT)
Hybrid Assembly® G FLAT
This burst plug is particularly space-saving. Its overall height is only 5 mm.
- Burst pressure range: 10 – 1000 bar (145 – 14500 psi)
- DN: 5.5 mm
- Thread: G 1/4″ and G 3/8″
Hybrid Assembly® G 1/8″ with side outlet
This assembly with the proven space-saving design has only one side outlet. This allows a more defined discharge of the medium. The plug also offers additional sealing options, e.g. the integrated sealing edge on the face at the bottom of the housing.
- Burst pressure range: 40 – 1000 bar (580 – 14500 psi)
- DN: 2.0 mm
- Thread: G 1/8″
Hybrid Assembly® NPT
This burst plug with NPT thread can be installed in a corresponding internal thread in combination with a commercially available sealant. No additional sealing ring is required; sealing is achieved via the thread.
- Burst pressure range: 10 – 600 bar (145 – 8700 psi)
- DN: 4.0 – 5.5 mm
- Thread: 1/4″ NPT, 3/8″ NPT, 1/2″ NPT
Hybrid Assembly® FLEX 1/2″-20 UNF
This particularly flat burst plug with an overall length of only 16.5 mm is suitable, among other things, for installation in the Swagelok rupture disc tee 1/4″ NPT (SS-RTM4-F4-1).
- Burst pressure range: 40 – 1000 bar (580 – 14500 psi), in the Swagelok tee 40 – 196 bar
- DN: 4.0 mm
- Thread: 1/2″-20 UNF
Hybrid Assembly® HIGH PRESSURE M16 x 1.5
Used in the proven, widely used high-pressure fittings and valves with sealing cone. The lower overall height is an advantage over conventional high-pressure holders.
