Flat rupture discs (membranes) are ideally suited for smaller nominal sizes and medium burst pressures. In this classic design they have been used for decades to protect gas containers, pumps, systems and plants against pressure. Flat rupture discs can also be used as puncture discs for mechanically triggered pressure relief, e.g. in the case of CO2 cartridges in fire extinguishers.
With flat rupture discs, the burst geometry must be defined precisely. The technical support of Wehberg Safety GmbH is happy to assist. During installation it must be ensured that only ever one rupture disc is fitted in the respective application. This is the responsibility of the customer.
